This snippet imports a NodeExporter Jet Template using prom/node-exporter:v1.12.1. It runs one container per server with host networking, the host PID namespace and a read-only host filesystem mount. It serves Prometheus metrics directly on node_exporter_port (typically TCP 9100) without Traefik.

Deploy and scrape

  1. Import the YAML, install the template on each Linux host to monitor, set node_exporter_port and create a Jet targeting Running. The snippet includes Docker, Fail2ban and Tower Core dependencies for host setup.
  2. Allow inbound access to the exporter port from the Prometheus server.
  3. Run Refresh targets on the Prometheus Jet. The node job should show the host as a target, labeled with its Tower server name. In Grafana, select that name as the instance on a dashboard that uses the Prometheus datasource.

Operate

Use Restart to restart the existing container and Rebuild to apply changes to its image or listen port. Remove takes the container out of service and Destroy cleans up the Jet's deployment resources. Refresh Prometheus targets after removing the Jet. If the host does not appear or the target is down, verify that the Jet is Running and that Prometheus can reach the server's /metrics endpoint on the configured port.
